What started as a bit of cross-training for running, seems to be turning into a bit of an obsession. I’ve been going at least 3 times a week and I’m loving every minute of it. I’m also watching a load of surfing videos and constantly reading surf magazine and books. It’s got to the point where I now feel like my running has become cross-training for surfing. The surfing isn’t by any means a new thing – I originally got into trail running as a way of keeping fit enough to surf at the weekends and I used to run a small company organising surfing holidays in Spain called Surf Spain. It has however been a long time since I’ve felt this excited about getting in water.
I am still going to keep up the trail running and in fact I want to train a lot harder over the next few weeks with maybe doing the Seronda Trail Series as an target for this Autumn.
