Last week’s training went really well. I felt really good running twice a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and apart from a little bit of tightness in my calves on Thursday, which had disappeared by Friday, no aches at all!
The planned 20 kilometre long-run, with Rob and Paul, was shortened a little due to deep snow and not wearing full-length leggings. Consequently, we tried to add on another 5 kilometres running back up a parallel valley but still only managed 18.5 kilometres. That said, I think we made up for with the 1,389 metres height gain.
I was also really pleased with the 4:30 pace of the last kilometre.
